ARTZY LINES – Non-Photorealistic Line Rendering Plugin for ZBrush

ARTZY LINES is a unique non-photorealistic rendering (NPR) plugin for ZBrush that works directly in mesh space. Unlike the built-in NPR filters, this approach is almost real-time and generates lines right on the surface of your model.

Some lines are view-dependent (updating live with every frame), while others stay locked to the mesh until you choose to refresh them with new settings. This gives you flexible control over how your stylized render looks.

Installation

Step 1 – Download & Unzip
Extract ARTZY-LINES.zip to a folder of your choice.

Step 2 – Install Required Microsoft Libraries
The plugin uses custom DLLs built with Visual Studio and may require the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables.

• If missing, the plugin may fail to load.
• You can download them for free directly from Microsoft, or use the installer included in the Files section.

Step 3 – Choose Your Installation Method

• Option A – Permanent Installation
  1. Move the following files to your ZBrush plugin directory:

     ZStartup/ZPlugs64/
     ├─ ARTZY-LINES.zsc
     └─ ArtzyData/ (folder)
     

  2. Restart ZBrush.
  3. The plugin will appear under the ZPlugin menu.
• Option B – Temporary Session Use
  1. Double-click ARTZY-LINES.zsc from the unzipped folder.
  2. The plugin will load and remain available until you close ZBrush.
